Gregory Trakhtenberg, MPT

Gregory has been a physical therapist for over 24 years. He graduated Touro College with a Masters degree in Physical therapy and Bachelors in health sciences with honors in 1999. He has been practicing sport and spine physical therapy since then. Being an athlete his entire life and having been injured himself several times, Gregory understands what injured people are going through. Helping people recover from injuries and seeing them get back on their feet as quickly as possible gives Gregory a great pleasure.
Gregory has acquired wealth of skills practicing physical therapy, specializing in wide range of soft tissue injury treatments including soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, trigger point release, medical massage, deep tissue mobilization, as well as spinal manipulations (adjustment of the spine) when required. Exercises such as stretching, strengthening, posture and balance training are all integral parts of Gregory’s rehabilitation programs. Gregory treats every patient individually, developing a personilized plan for each person. His caring, professionalism and specialized skills hepls his patients achieve their goals quickly.
Dmitry Shestakovsky, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Dr. Dmitry Shestakovsky is the co-owner of Midtown East Physical Therapy. He attended the Physical Therapy program at Downstate University which he graduated in 1999. In 2007, he graduated from the University of St. Augustine’s with honors and a Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy.
Dr. Shestakovsky approaches every patient using a multi-system approach to treat the human body as a “whole” not just focusing on the site of pain. His goal is to diagnose underlying influences and discover what is the “driver” causing the musculoskeletal imbalance, pain, dysfunction, and faulty movement patterns.
Dr. Shestakovsky has extensive training and experience in a gentle hands-on Osteopathic technique called Counterstrain and Fascial Counterstrain (FCS). FCS is essentially a multi-system approach to resolving pain and dysfunction in the entire body. He is active in taking courses from the Jones Institute and Counterstrain Academy the world’s top resources for all Counter-Strainers.
His goal is to facilitate healing through manual medicine and education, with the objective of restoring and advancing the individual to his/her maximal ability level.
Louisa Powers, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Dr. Louisa Powers received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Touro College, and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science from the University of Rhode Island.
Dr. Louisa has over 8 years of experience treating patients in an orthopedic setting. It is her goal to create a positive healing experience for patients by taking time to understand each patient as an individual. She is a manually trained clinician who is trained in Fascial Counterstrain, the newest paradigm in manual medicine. Dr. Powers applies her extensive knowledge of the body and functional exercises to modify and progress her patients so they can obtain their optimal condition.
Dr. Louisa has always been active. She was a competitive swimmer for almost 10 years, including coaching in her last year of high school. Upon entering college she received certification to teach group fitness classes through The Aerobics and Fitness Association of America and Spin through Mad-Dog Athletics. Group fitness became a quick hobby of passion. She now teaches group classes at Crunch gym locations around NYC.
Ceren Acik, MSPT
Physical Therapist
Ceren completed her physical therapy education in Istanbul, Turkey. She earned her Master of Science degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from California State University, Los Angeles, and is currently pursuing a second master’s degree, an MBA in Healthcare Management, at Tennessee Wesleyan University.
Ceren has an extensive background working with athletes and sports-related injuries, supported by her own experience growing up as a volleyball athlete. Her clinical focus includes orthopedic rehabilitation, sports injuries, pelvic floor dysfunctions, and women’s health.
She is also a certified Pilates and Yoga instructor, allowing her to integrate mindful movement, functional exercise, and evidence-based rehabilitation into individualized treatment plans. Ceren is committed to providing patient-centered care by understanding each individual’s goals and helping them safely return to optimal function in daily life and sport.
Necmiye Yildirim, MSPT
Physical Therapist
Necmiye is a licensed Physical Therapist who graduated from Istanbul University in Turkey with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy and a Master’s degree in Anatomy. She later completed a second Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology at California State University. She is currently pursuing her third graduate degree, an MBA in Healthcare Management, to broaden her leadership and clinical expertise in the rehabilitation field.
In her practice, Necmiye provides personalized, evidence-based care focused on improving mobility, building confidence in movement, and supporting long-term wellness. She values clear communication, trust, and collaboration to help patients feel empowered throughout their rehabilitation journey.
Outside the clinic, Necmiye has traveled to 49 U.S. states, including six months exploring by RV. A trained tango dancer who performed professionally for three years, she brings an appreciation for balance, rhythm, and mindful movement into both her life and work.
Inga Fruman, L.Ac., M.S.O.M.

Inga Fruman, L.Ac., is a graduate of the prestigious Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York and is Board Certified in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology and Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She is dedicated to the field of integrative and preventive medicine and believes in providing exemplary physical, emotional, and spiritual care for each of her patients. Inga Fruman, L.Ac specializes in the treatment of addiction, chronic fatigue, diabetes, diet/nutrition, emotional well-being, fibromyalgia, gastrointestinal problems, headache/migraine, pain management, sexual dysfunction, sleep/insomnia, and stress. In addition, Inga Fruman, L.Ac is a certified specialist in Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture. She strives to help each person achieve a healthier and more balanced life.
