Murray Hill
A flat avenue walk or one stop on the 6 to our 46th Street office.
Murray Hill runs roughly from East 34th Street up to East 40th, between Madison and Third Avenues, with Grand Central Terminal sitting just past its northern edge. It is one of the few parts of Midtown that is residential first — low-rise brownstone blocks and pre-war apartment buildings rather than office towers.
That geography is the reason it is the simplest neighbourhood in this list to reach us from: our 46th Street office sits six to twelve blocks north of most Murray Hill addresses, on the same north-south grid, with no crosstown leg and no transfer involved.
We do not have an office in Murray Hill. Midtown East Physical Therapy has two locations, both in Manhattan — 12 E. 46th Street, Suite 501, New York, NY 10017 and 1995 Broadway, Suite 801, New York, NY 10023 and 274 Madison Avenue, Suite 1001, New York, NY 10016 — and patients from Murray Hill are seen at one of them.
Getting Here
Getting to 46th Street from Murray Hill
On foot it is a straight walk north up Madison, Park or Lexington Avenue. From Madison Avenue and East 38th Street, for example, you continue north to 46th Street and the office is a few doors east of Fifth Avenue — roughly a ten-minute walk on flat ground, entirely on the numbered street grid.
By subway, the 6 stops at 33 St on Park Avenue South, and Grand Central–42 St is the next stop north. From Grand Central you come out onto 42nd Street and walk four blocks up — for most Murray Hill addresses the walk and the train take about the same time, so it usually comes down to the weather.

- The M34 crosstown connects the East and West sides along 34th Street

Good to Know
Practical notes for Murray Hill patients
- The whole route is street-level and flat — no park crossing, no river, no stairs beyond the subway if you take it
- Appointments run to 7:00 PM Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 AM on Tuesdays, which suits a walk before or after a Midtown working day
- Street parking around East 46th Street is metered and time-limited; commercial garages operate on the surrounding side streets
- Citi Bike docks are spread throughout Murray Hill and Midtown East, and the avenue route north is direct
